Benefits Administrator Annuities


Department:                          Operations

Station:                                   Windhoek

Reports to: Senior Administrator

Purpose of the Job:

To provide all the administration operations management services, ensuring accurate records processes in line with procedures and systems requirements.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Provide benefits processing and administration services.
  • Maintain efficient administration and maintenance of the pensioners records
  • Receive batch of files for processing of claims
  • Perform specific data verifications on all annuity claims.
  • Deal with specific problems as detected/delegated by the senior.
  • Perform specific operations audits and validation on annuitants’ data or searches of specific data
  • Receive request for annuitants’ data amendments from annuitants.
  • Detect, investigate, and resolve fraudulent documents and cases.
  • Obtain all necessary details for processing and feed into system.
  • Deal with all related queries from internal and external customers.
  • Assist with projects assigned by Senior e.g., investigate and follow up on annuitant’s data
  • Liaise with Pensioners Association, Councilors, etc. on all annuity related matters.
  • Liaise with other units/divisions in the operations department to follow up on progress of processing of claims.
  • Stand in for other staff as required in his/her absence.
  • Perform follow ups on outstanding information
  • Ensure all Banking details are authentic and belong to the right annuitant.

Job-related qualifications and experience

  • Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting & Finance with commercial related subjects
  • 2 years working experience in an administration or finance related environment. Pension fund-related experience will be an added advantage.
  • Certificate in pension Fund administration will be an added advantage.

The incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills, and Attributes:

Knowledge of:

Processes of claims/benefits payments, annuities situations, auditing of data, basic accounting principles, basic actuarial understanding, calculations modules and interest rate, control processes and checks, manual procedures for calculating benefits payments and pension fund industry/environment rules and regulations.


Computer literacy; administration skills; advising, change management, complaints handling, customer care, evaluation, and feedback, interpersonal, listening, numeric ability, prioritizing, problem solving, project management, report writing, supervision and talent management skills.
