Manager: Operations

Reports to: GM: Operations

Purpose of the Job:

  • To manage the division in terms of human and financial resources

Key Performance Areas:

  • Develop and implement operational processes and ensure staff members are well trained.
  • Ensure effective and efficient records and data management pertaining to the benefits payments.
  • Ensure that benefits are currently paid to the right beneficiaries.
  • Manage members databases and ensure data integrity through data management principles.
  • To enforce compliance to processes the rules of the Fund, the pension fund act and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate collection and management of data from MIS, thorough checks for quarterly reporting to Namfisa, reduction in data reserve and reduction in unenrolled annuitants.
  • Translate strategic imperatives into action plans and tasks.
  • Draft and implement data management improvements policy and procedures.
  • Ensure data auditing services through data re-checking to prevent delays and fraudulent activities.

Job-related qualifications and experience:

  • A degree in Business Administration/Business Management, Accounting and Finance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience in Administration with three (3)years managerial/supervisory experience in the retirement fund industry.
  • A Pension fund administration qualification will be an added advantage.

Cost/benefits analysis, records management, data control & management, business processes, benefits administration, pension fund rules and regulations, actuarial requirements, accounting and auditing practices and principles, financial accounting, operations management, process design, management and control, departmental planning and risk assessment knowledge and understanding.
