Position: Manager: Organisational Development, Industrial Relations and Training

Purpose of the Position:

To formulate and propose OD interventions which will support successful implementation of business strategy and achievement of organisational objectives. To manage employee relations, promote positive work environments, ensure compliance with labour laws, and mitigate risks associated with Labour disputes.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Providing expert guidance based on research, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of the business strategic intent, analysing organisational structures.
  • Ensure efficiency and sustainability when aligning OD initiatives to the business strategy, designing and/or profiling of jobs and evaluate them.
  • Monitor the organisational climate and assess aligned commitment of corporate strategic values to employees.
  • Develop and implement a talent management strategy and employment equity plan for GIPF and manage labour relations effectively.
  • Manage the implementation of GIPF’s training and development strategies and programs by providing support to the identification of training, training services providers, organising and delivery of training, monitoring and evaluation of training as set out in the training and development framework.
  • Responsible for the OD, IR & Training budget
  • Provide input to the development of OD, Employee relations, training and development policies, standards and procedures.
  • Rationalise departmental designs to align with overall business strategic goals using principles of appropriate organisation design
  • Review the analysis of job competencies and profiling of jobs using principles of best practice.
  • Review and enhance the job evaluation policy and procedures for the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain a performance management system.
  • Implement the Fund’s training and development policy and procedures to ensure that employees are developed according to the strategic agenda that is set by the Fund.
  • Facilitate the process of actualising the GIPF values through culture interventions so that employees work relates and interacts with customers in line with values.
  • Organisational climate and internal perception surveys and analysis
  • Conduct continuous research on international and national best practice developments on business culture.
  • Plan and implement organisational development strategies and initiative that promotes a positive employee experience and support the achievement of organisation objectives.
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement succession planning strategies that identify and develop internal talent for future leadership roles.
  • Provide directions to GM HR with regard to all employee relations practices, grievances and disciplining.
  • Implement specific processes that enable the planning and implementation of EE guidelines and requirements.

Job-related qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology/Human Resources Management/Development/Business Administration, NQF Level 7.
  • 8 years’ experience in a business environment with organisational development, employee relations and training responsibilities of which three (3) years should be on a supervisory level in the OD field.
  • Certification in Change Management will be an added advantage
  • Certification in Chartered organisational development program will be an added advantage.
