Treasury Analyst

Reports to: Manager: Treasury

Purpose of the Job:

  • To critically analyze and manage the GIPF in-house portfolios and serve as the portfolio manager managing the Fund’s internal Money Market, fixed income, and equity portfolios.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assist in the management of cash investments and money market portfolio.
  • Management of fixed income portfolio
  • Maintain counter party relationships.
  • Provide competent dealing and trading services.
  • Perform portfolio analysis.
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective strategic equity investments.
  • Perform financial statements modelling and forecasting.
  • Preparation and presentation of investment memoranda
  • Executive investment transaction
  • Post investment management and reporting.
  • Risk management.
  • Perform research on new and existing products.
  • Monthly Strategic meeting
  • Assist in reviewing key documentation.
  • Forex dealing

 Job-related qualifications and experience

  • Commerce/Finance/Economics/Business Science
  • Four (4) years’ experience in the banking or portfolio management environment with at least 2 years’ experience in fixed income and/or financial analysis environment.
  • CFA or ACI dealing certificate will be an added advantage.

The incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills and Attributes:

Knowledge of:

Good understanding of the Namibian, regional and global fixed income market, financial statement analysis and modelling, company valuation and valuation of fixed interest securities, general understanding of the GIPF mandate, national development plans which dictates the government borrowing plan, local, regional, and global macro-economic factors driving asset prices, pension fund legislation and relevant systems for the execution of investments.

Skills:

Analytical; interpersonal, networking, presentation, report writing and negotiation skills.
