Position:           Benefits Administrator – Outapi

Reports to:      Senior Administrator

Department:  Operations

 

Purpose of the Position:

  • To manage complex and multi-faceted benefits administration processes, ensuring that payments and related services are processed efficiently and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal guidelines.

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Verify and admit new members on the GIMIS system with supporting information and documentation.
  • Perform specific data verifications on all benefits claims.
  • Receive batch of claims for processing and ensure that claims are verified according to agreed standards.
  • Deal with specific problems as detected/delegated by the Senior Benefits Administrator.
  • Perform data audit and validations to identify anomalies.
  • Ensure that records are accurate and compliant with regulatory frameworks.
  • Receive requests for member data amendments from members or external HR Practitioners.
  • Detect, investigate and resolve fraudulent documents and cases.
  • Verify and process requested quotations per SLA.
  • Prepare and verify all inputs to benefits statements, to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Deal with all related queries from internal and external customers.

 

Job-related qualifications and experience:

  • Degree (NQF level 7) in Business Administration or Commerce
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in administration or Finance related environment.
  • Pension Fund-related experience will be an added advantage.
  • A driver’s license code B

 

The incumbent should have the following knowledge, skills, and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of:

Accounting principles, administrative processes, system claims processing, creation, data verification and auditing, quality assurance, complex benefit calculations modules, data processing and procedures, payroll interpretation, advanced knowledge on Pension Fund Rules, acts, and regulations.

  • Skills

Analytical skills, Administration, advising, complaints handling, customer/user service, numerical ability, customer service, interpersonal skills, listening, organising, planning and coordination, presentation, prioritising, time management, and investigations.

  • Attributes:

Attention to detail, high-stress tolerance, patience, sense of urgency, strong work ethic, accuracy, high accountability, integrity, confidentiality, and team orientation.
